Lucknow. Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has so far married more than one and a half lakh daughters in the state. A mass program of mass marriage will be held in Lucknow on 18 March, in which 3,500 daughters of poor families will be married.
According to the government spokesperson, Chief Minister Yogi himself will be present to bless the couples at the event organized by the Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
Poor families from Lucknow, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Hardoi and Barabanki districts have been registered for this matrimonial program.
Under the scheme, the government provides financial assistance of Rs 55,000 to those who get married in their homes, Rs 61,000 for ‘Divyang’ and Rs 75,000 for the wedding of girls who register for the event.
The state government will spend Rs 2.10 crore in the March 18 program.
Additional Labor Commissioner, B.K. Rai said that the Chief Minister’s scheme is directly benefiting the poor sections of the state.
