Lucknow . The possibility of damage to rabi crops can be reduced by increasing temperature and strong winds during the day, provided caution is taken. Especially to save wheat crop, do light irrigation in the field. This will avert the risk of the grain getting thinner and the standing crop falling. Crops like gram, pea and lentils are not particularly vulnerable to the heat of the weather. If more irrigation is done only in the prepared mustard crop, there will be a possibility of falling.
Agriculture expert Dr. CP Srivastava says that temperature is definitely increased, but the mercury is around 16-17 degrees Celsius at night. In such a situation, even if the heat of the day is more than 27 degrees, there will not be much damage to the crops. He says that the heat lasts for seven to eight hours, while the rest of the time the weather is favorable for crops. The threat is to the wheat and mustard crop. Farmers fear that due to less moisture in the season, the grain will remain weak. In such a situation, if the farmer irrigates the fields more, then the strong winds will cause the crop to fall and the production will decrease.
Mau’s farmer Devprakash Rai says that due to increasing heat, wheat may be damaged, but gram, pea, lentil and mustard crops will ripen soon. If they are harvested, then the fear of hailstorm or excess rain will be over. Please tell that in the second week of March last year, due to rain and hailstorm, crops had suffered more damage.
Agriculture Officer Dr. CP Srivastava said that at present there is no possibility of any damage to the crops due to wind. He said that crops like mustard, gram, are almost ready. If it rains with hailstorm, then farming can be harmed. On Monday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 31.9 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal. The minimum temperature was also recorded at 16.7 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal. The weather is expected to remain almost the same for the next two to three days.
