In order to enable Lucknow to perform the last rites of any unclaimed dead body, the government has decided to increase the predetermined amount by seven hundred rupees. Due to rising inflation, the DGP headquarters had recommended to increase the amount on this head, on which the government has now approved a grant of Rs 3400 for the last rites. This item has increased after nearly nine years. Till now, 2700 rupees were being given to perform the last rites of the unclaimed dead body.
In rickshaws or tempo, there are scenes of the police negligently carrying bodies or cremating bodies in an indecent manner. Such viral photographs have at times raised the entire system from police to insensitivity. Such situations often arise with unclaimed dead bodies. In order to prevent this from happening, the government provides the prescribed amount for the funeral of the unclaimed dead bodies.
The DGP Headquarters had recently recommended increasing the amount to be paid for the funeral of unclaimed dead bodies. Special Secretary of the Home Department RP Singh has issued an order to provide Rs 3400 for the funeral of the unclaimed dead body, including four hundred rupees for six meters of cloth of shroud, wood for cremation or burial in the cemetery. 2500 rupees and includes 500 rupees for transporting the dead body to the post mortem house and the crematorium / cemetery.
500 rupees will not be available if there is a government vehicle: The government has directed that these vehicles should be used in the districts where government vehicles are available, to take the dead body from the spot to the post mortem house and then to the crematorium / cemetery. In such a situation, there will be no payment of 500 rupees permissible for carrying and carrying the body.
