Kolkata . Minister Zakir Hussain was seriously injured after a bomb was hurled at a railway station in Murshidabad district of the election state of West Bengal. Police said that Minister of State for Labor in the bombing
Two other people were also injured along with Hussain.
According to the police, the bomb was thrown at Hussain when he was waiting for the train at a platform at Nimita railway station to board the train going to Kolkata at around 10 pm.
The minister and two other injured were first taken to Jangipur Sub-Divisional Hospital, then to a hospital in Kolkata. The left side of Hussain’s body is more injured.
This is the first attack on a Bengal minister in recent years. Police contingents led by senior officers immediately reached the spot. Police said the incident is under investigation.
