Jaipur | Former Indian Premier League (IPL) champion Rajasthan Royals have traded opener Robin Uthappa to three-time champions Chennai Super Kings. Rajasthan Royals bought Uthappa at auction in the 2020 season. Uthappa played 12 matches for Rajasthan last season, scoring 196 runs at an average of 16.33.
Uthappa, who was part of the Indian team that won the 2007 T20 World Cup, has played 189 matches so far in the IPL, in which he has scored 4607 runs.
He said, “I really enjoyed my year at Rajasthan Royals and it was a great time to be a part of this franchise. I am now excited about the next part of my cricket joining the Chennai Super Kings for IPL 2021. “
