Kolkata. The BJP is also giving the common people a chance to become party candidates in next year’s assembly elections in Bengal. In this regard, a drop box has been installed in the Bengal BJP headquarters located at Muralidhar Sen Lane in Kolkata, in which those wishing to become BJP candidates can submit their applications. He can present his candidature on any of the 294 assembly seats in Bengal.
They have to provide their name, address and other details in the application form. From employed people to businessmen and common housewives can apply as candidates. Once the drop box is filled, the application forms will be sent to the central leadership of the BJP for further action in Delhi. Qualified candidates will be selected from among them. BJP leader Shamik Bhattacharya said that the popularity of BJP in Bengal was increasing and people from different sections of the society wanted to join the party.
There are many people who are not in active politics right now but are willing to be party candidates in the next assembly elections. This step has been taken to give them a chance. This will also increase public relations. Significantly, the BJP had also taken this initiative during the last Lok Sabha election, although only around 1,000 applications were submitted at that time. No one was selected due to lack of qualified candidates. Since there are 294 assembly seats in Bengal, this time some common people are expected to get a chance.
