Patna. The government has now become strict about the strike of junior doctors in government medical college hospitals in Bihar. The government has now ordered a deduction of PG students from their stipend on the principle of ‘no work-no pay’. It is noteworthy that about 1,000 junior doctors of all the government medical college hospitals of the state are on indefinite strike demanding extension of stipend for three days, which has ruined the state’s health system.
Here, the government has now become strict about this strike. Kaushal Kishore, Additional Secretary, Health Department, on Friday issued an order to the Principal and Superintendents of all Medical College Hospitals to say that the cut-off period of PG students from their stipend based on the principle of ‘no work-no pay’ Go
It is written in the order that if any compulsory medical services like OPD, Operation, Emergency etc. are interrupted by a PG student, the desired legal action should be taken against them.
All the nine government medical college hospitals in the state are facing problems due to the strike of junior doctors. Many patients are returning due to lack of treatment, many operations have been postponed.
The President of Junior Medical Association (JDA) of Patna Medical College Hospital, Dr. Harendra Kumar said that the strike of junior doctors will continue till their demands are met. He said that the government had assured the JDA that their stipend would be increased every three years.
According to this order, the stipend should have increased only in January of this year, but it has not increased till now.
