New Delhi The Sports Ministry has approved the 40-day camp of India’s female wrestling player Vinesh Phogat. Vinesh will take part in camps in Hungary and Poland, along with his coach Volor Ekos and sparing partner Priyanka Phogat. The Sports Authority of India (SAI) issued a statement on Friday, stating that the camp will be held in Budapest Hungary between 28 December to 24 January, and Poland from 24 January to 5 February.
The training camp was planned by Vinesh’s coach Ekos. In this, Vinesh will get to practice with many players of Europe in his weight. She will also be technically strong.
Vinesh said in a statement, “As a wrestling player I should know my level. Competing with good players will help me know where I stand.”
The total expenditure in this camp will be Rs 15.51 lakh which includes ticket expenses, local commute, stay arrangements and pocket expenses.
26-year-old Vinesh has qualified for the Tokyo Olympics. He is part of the Tokyo Olympic Scheme (TOPS). Vinesh won a bronze medal in the World Championship in the 53 kg category.
