new Delhi. Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij, who is currently battling Kovid-19 infection, was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram in critical condition. The Minister is undergoing treatment under the leadership of Dr. Sushila Kataria, Senior Director of Internal Medicine Department in Medanta, sources said that the Minister is suffering from lung infection.
However, there was no official response from the hospital.
Vij was admitted from the Haryana Government’s Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), Rohtak, to Medanta in the evening, where he was admitted on Saturday and received convalescent plasma therapy. The institute had reported that Vij had moderate Kovid-19 with bilateral viral pneumonia.
Sources told IANS that his family insisted him shift from PGIMS to a private facility in Gurugram, after which his health condition did not improve there.
Earlier, he was undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital in Ambala district.
Minister Vij took one of the two doses of the indigenous Kovid-19 vaccine ‘Kovaxine’ developed by Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech last month. He had offered to volunteer in his 3-phase trial. They were found to be Kovid-19 positive on 5 December.
Vij was administered the dose on November 20 at the Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantonment.
