Mussoorie (Dehradun). In the hotel operators of the famous tourist destination Rani of Mussoorie, the expectations have been aroused in the celebration of New Year and Christmas. Up to 60 percent of advance booking has been done in major hotels of the city. According to hotel operators, inquiries have also increased compared to previous days. The tourists are calling about occupancy.
Amid growing Corona infection of Uttarakhand, it was feared that Christmas and New Year celebrations in Mussoorie might fade. Hotel operators were also nervous about the government’s guidelines. Under this, random tests are being conducted for those coming out on state borders. Although, the hotel operators are not openly saying this, but they felt that this could reduce the number of tourists.
According to Swami Ramkumar Goyal, Senior Vice President of Mussoorie Hotel Association, advance booking is more than expected. He hoped that it would catch pace in the coming times. Goyal says that the number of tourists on the weekend is going to arouse hope. If there is snowfall, there will be further increase in Mussoorie.
Harshmani Semwal, General Manager of Hotel Ramada, says that up to 50 percent bookings have been made for Christmas and New Year. He says tourists are also questioning by phone. According to Anil Sharma, Vice President of Hotel JP Residency Manor, they have good bookings for Christmas, but for New Year’s Eve, only 15 to 20 percent of the bookings have been made. Uttarakhand Hotel Association President Sandeep Sahni said that Kovid’s guideline will be followed completely during the celebrations in hotels.
