new Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that “we have reduced the rate of carbon emissions by 21 percent compared to the year 2005”. Modi also said that India is not only moving towards achieving the goals of its Paris Agreement, but is moving towards meeting its expectations far beyond this. Prime Minister Modi presented his views at the Global Climate Conference organized by the United Nations (UN) and Britain on the occasion of the completion of five years of the Paris Agreement.
At the conference, Prime Minister Modi said, “We have reduced the carbon emission speed by 21 percent compared to 2005. Our solar power capacity was 2.63 GW in 2014, which has increased to 36 GW by 2020. Our renewable energy capacity is fourth in the world and will increase to 175 GHz before 2022 ”.
Prime Minister Modi drew his views on the future of the Global Climate Conference organized by the United Nations to mark the completion of five years of the Paris Agreement. He said, “As we continue to elevate our vision even more today, we should also not look at our past. We must not only change our ambitions, but our achievements in the goals already set Should also be reviewed. ”
He said that in 2047 India will celebrate 100 years of its existence as a modern independent nation. Modi said, “To all the inhabitants of this planet, I take an oath today that a hundred years of India will not only meet its goals, but also your expectations.”
It is known that for the first time all the countries were united under a legally binding agreement to deal with climate change and the ill effects arising from it. It was accepted by 196 countries in Paris on 12 December 2015 and was implemented from 4 November 2016.
