The training of BC Sakhi (Business Correspondent Sakhi), which will facilitate banking facilities in rural areas of Uttar Pradesh and give a new direction to women self-reliance, will start from December 15. With the completion of training, the state will get a lump sum of 58,000 B.C. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, aware of the preparations for training, working, dress, monitoring etc. of BC Sakhi, said that BC Sakhi will play an important role in efforts to make women empowered and self-supporting. In addition, it will also prove to be extremely important in terms of expansion and ease of banking services. Yogi has also given instructions to decide the dress for BC Sakhi according to Indian tradition.
Additional Chief Secretary, Rural Development Manoj Kumar Singh said that in the order of the Chief Minister’s instructions regarding appointing a BC Sakhi in every Gram Panchayat, applications were invited from all over the state. A total of 2,16,000 applications were received. A total of 58,532 panchayats received applications. In the first phase, 56,875 applicants were shortlisted based on the methodical selection process. They will be trained from December 15. Two batches of 30-30 will be trained every week in every district by the State Director RCetti. After the training, online examination will be conducted by IIBF.
He informed that Commercial Bank, Corporate BC, Fintech Payment Bank are being added to anchor BC Sakhi. Its process is going on. 34 companies have shown interest in collaborating. The process of final selection will be completed soon. He said that BC Sakhi will be equipped with desktop computers, laptops, POS machines, card readers, finger print readers, integrated equipment. For this, interest free loan will be provided to BC Sakhi. BC Sakhi will be given a stipend of Rs 4000 per month for 6 months and Rs 1200 per month to work as a group Sakhi. It will also be able to draft up to Rs 25,000. Not only this, they will also get 2% commission on the transaction. Additional Chief Secretary Rural Development said that such arrangements are also being made that the withdrawal of grant of MNREGA wages, housing, toilets can be ensured through these. The dress design work of BC Sakhi is being done by NIFT Rae Bareli. The work of dress design will be done by the weavers of Varanasi, Mau and Mubarakpur. Each BC Sakhi will get the first two sets of dress free of charge.
