Arun Popli, chairman of Okhla Chamber of Industries, said that the factories related to packaging, engineering and food items have improved a lot, but there is still slackness in printing press and advertisement.
He said that 60-70 per cent of the total work of factories has been returned.
Popley said orders have also started coming in around 60 percent. Regarding the return of migrant laborers to the villages, he said that those who were returning laborers and artisans have returned, not only those who have got work in the villages.
However, the functioning of factories related to engineering sector has improved a lot. Ashwini Mahendru, a Greater Noida businessman and associated with Small Scale Industries Bharti, said that new orders are being received, but the supply chain is not being supplied properly due to lack of supply chain.
He said that almost 95 percent of the artisans, workers and workers have returned to work.
However, General Secretary Bhupendra Singh of Textile Processors Association, Faridabad, an organization associated with the textiles sector, said that the work is sluggish due to weak export demand.
He said that orders are still not getting from America and Europe and there is still a shortage of workers and artisans in the factories.
There are around 1100 factories in Mayapuri area of Delhi, where unlock-4 has increased. General Secretary of Mayapuri Industrial Welfare Association Neeraj Sehgal said that most of the workers and artisans who had gone to the village during the lockdown have returned and about 60-70 per cent of the work of the factories has returned.
He said that the workers who have not returned so far will not return as they have got work in the villages.
Janak Kumar Bhatia, State President of Small Scale Industries Bharti in Uttar Pradesh also told that there is a shortage of laborers and artisans in the industry related to apparel, garmet, but as the days go by, activities will increase and orders will start to come and the supply chain will get better. And the artisans will also start returning to work.
