Bangkok Thailand, which is troubling India with its grandeur, has now given a second setback after Thailand hangs up the submarine deal. He is going to cancel the ‘Kra Canal Project’. This would have made China’s access to the deep ocean easier. China had long been waiting for its completion. According to TFIIPost news, the Dragon could easily reach its newly constructed bases in the South China Sea and the Great Ocean after the 120-km long Kra-Canal project was completed. This means that at the time of danger, Chinese warships would have come to the deep ocean in a few hours instead of a few days. For this, China has to travel an additional distance of 1,100 km. China wants to establish its dominance in the South China Sea by bypassing the Gulf of Malacca with the help of the KRA project, so that no one in the deep-Pacific region can challenge it. The Thai government has withdrawn from this project and shattered China’s intentions.
Thailand considered Gamechanger
Initially, Thailand considered the Kra project a gamechanger for itself. There was talk of constructing it on the lines of the Panama Canal, which would directly connect the South China Sea with the deep ocean. Now the Thai government feels that it does not benefit from the project. It will not generate much revenue either.
The threat of increasing Chinese interference also makes Thailand understand that its relations with countries like the US and India may deteriorate due to the KRA project. There is also a concern that the project may endanger the independence of poor Southeast Asian countries such as Myanmar and Cambodia, which are already deeply troubled by Chinese interference.
Submarine deal also delayed
Earlier, under public pressure, the Thai government has postponed the purchase of two submarines from China for 2022. The deal is worth $ 720 million (about Rs 5,273 crore). The deal was being fiercely opposed in the country. Opposition leaders and common people said that this money should be spent for the good of the families of the Corona victims.
