new Delhi. A CRPF inspector was shot dead and then committed suicide by a sub-inspector of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Delhi’s posh area Lodhi Estate on Friday night before his AK 47 service weapon. This information was given by the police.
It is believed that the officers allegedly fought before the incident.
The accident took place at around 10.30 in the night at 61, Lodhi Estate, a bungalow allotted to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
When the police team arrived at the scene, they saw that the inspector must have opened the bus to Tiffin for food, only when he was shot while the body of another CRPF officer was lying on the floor. Both officers were shot and by the time the police team reached the spot, they were dead.
A senior police officer said, “We are investigating what caused the officer to take this step. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem.”
Initial investigation revealed that there was a scuffle between the two officers, which led to Sub Inspector Karnail Singh firing on his colleague Dasaratha Singh. Both lived in the same room. The sub-inspector was from Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir, while the inspector was from Rohtak in Haryana.
DIG, CRPF, M. Dinakaran said, “In a horrific incident last night, an SI of 122 BN of CRPF shot and killed the inspector of the same BN before shooting himself with his service weapon. The incident 61, Lodhi belongs to the estate. An inquiry has been ordered to find out the cause of the incident and will be taken to its end. Meanwhile, senior army officers arrived on the spot and handled the situation.
