Earlier, on the occasion of Ashada Purnima, President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated Dharma Chakra Day at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the ceremonies organized by the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) on the occasion of Ashada Purnima today. Presently President Kovind is delivering his address at the event.

On this occasion, President Kovind said that the word Wisdom was first spoken on Ashada Purnima, about 2500 years ago. Upon attaining enlightenment, the Buddha spent 5 weeks in a state beyond description. Then he started sharing it with the people he discovered.
– President Ramnath Kovind also gave his address on this occasion. He said that India is proud to be the land of origin of religion. It started spreading from India to neighboring areas. It grew to a large extent in the new fertile soil and new climate, eventually splitting into various offshoots.
On this occasion, PM Modi said that today the world is fighting tough challenges. Permanent solutions to these challenges can come from the ideals of Lord Buddha. They said they were relevant in the past. They are currently relevant and, they will remain relevant in the future.
– PM Narendra Modi said that the eight paths shown by Lord Buddha show the path towards the welfare of many societies and nations. It highlights the importance of compassion and kindness. Lord Buddha’s teachings bring simplicity to both thought and action.
– PM Modi said that today I want to convey my best wishes to everyone on the occasion of Ashada Purnima. It is also known as Guru Purnima. It is a day to remember our gurus who gave us knowledge. In that spirit we pay homage to Lord Buddha.

– International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) is celebrating Ashada Purnima as Dharma Chakra Day under the aegis of Union Ministry of Culture. Dharma Chakra Day reminds the Buddha of his first sermon to his first five ascetic disciples at Deer Park, Rupapatana in present-day Sarnath near Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. This day is also celebrated by Buddhists all over the world as a day of change of religion or turning to the wheel of religion. This day is considered as Guru Purnima by both Buddhists and Hindus as a symbol of reverence for their gurus.
– This online function of Dharma Chakra Day will also include the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel and Union Minister Kiran Rijiju. The Prime Minister’s Office issued a statement on Friday, saying that this historic legacy of the land of India, which awakened Lord Buddha with knowledge, will be celebrated by turning the wheel of religion.

These ceremonies will be held at the Holy Garden Lumbini, Nepal, Mahabodhi Temple, Bodh Gaya, India, Moolagandha Kuti Vihar, Sarnath, India, Parinirvan Stupa, Kushinagar, India, Anuradhapura Stupa Complex, Sri Lanka, Boudhanath, Swayambhu, Namo Stupa, other popular Buddhist sites in Nepal Will be done. President, Vice President greeted Buddha Purnima. Earlier, President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M.
