Hapur. The brother-in-law tried to rape a married woman of a locality in the Kotwali area. On protest, the people of the in-laws’ side brutally beat the married woman and tried to kill her. Not only this, the husband gave triple talaq to the married woman. On the order of the SP, the police have registered a case against five named accused including the husband. The police is investigating the matter.
In the report filed with the police, the married woman of a locality of the city told that on March 6, 2010, she was married to Aslam alias Raja of Mohalla Khalapar in Muzaffarnagar district. After about two years of marriage, the brother-in-law Shamshad started keeping an evil eye on her. She complained about this to her husband, but he ignored it.

To woo the victim, the brother-in-law started bringing her various kinds of things. Many times panchayats were held between the relatives of the victim and the people of the maternal side regarding the matter. Still, the brother-in-law did not stop his antics. About two years ago, the victim’s husband had gone out of the house for some work. Meanwhile, the brother-in-law reached home. The brother-in-law sent a mug of milk to the victim through his son. The victim became unconscious after drinking the milk.
The husband silenced the victim by threatening triple talaq
After this, the brother-in-law tried to rape the victim. The victim complained about this to her husband and the other brother-in-law. Despite this, they did not take any action against the accused. Rather, the victim was beaten brutally. The victim also got injured in the assault. The husband silenced the victim by threatening triple talaq.
The people of the in-laws’ side sent her abroad
To avoid any action against the brother-in-law, the people of the in-laws’ side sent her abroad. On March 25, 2025, the brother-in-law returned from abroad. After which he started molesting the victim again. On April 18, 2025, the victim protested against the molestation. On this, brother-in-law’s son Shad, husband Assam, brother-in-law Inam, Shamshad and sister-in-law Heena beat her fiercely. Shad put the barrel of the pistol in the victim’s mouth and threatened to kill her.

Meanwhile, the accused together also tried to kill the victim. Not only this, the husband also called her three times. The victim informed her brothers about this. After which the brothers reached the victim’s in-laws’ house. The brothers took the victim to Muzaffarnagar police station, but the police did not take any action. On April 18, the victim came to her maternal home with her brothers. The victim complained to the SP in the matter.
SP Gyananjay Singh said that a report has been filed against the married woman’s husband Aslam alias Raja, brother-in-law Shamshad, Inam, sister-in-law Heena and Shamshad’s son Shad. The matter will be investigated and impartial action will be taken.
