2014 batch IPS officer Ankit Mittal, who was surrounded by serious complaints, has been suspended. Ankit’s wife had accused him of misbehavior, extra marital affair and assault. After which the Uttar Pradesh government took action against the IPS officer and suspended him.
Ankit Mittal was currently posted as SP in Training Center Chunar. A few months ago he was the SP of Gonda, but at the same time his wife had complained against him for having an illicit relationship with another woman. Which was investigated by the DG of Police Training. He has been suspended after the allegations were found to be true in the investigation.
Wife had complained
Ankit Mittal’s wife had told in the complaint that Ankit beats her and their children. The reason behind this is that Ankit has a female friend. Let us tell you that IPS Ankit Mittal is the son-in-law of former DG Gopal Gupta. This is not the first time that IPS Ankit Mittal has been accused of misbehaving with his wife. On December 16, 2023, Mittal was removed from the post of SP Gonda and sent to RTC (Recruit Training Center) Chunar. This is because he was found guilty of misbehaving with his wife.
According to the information, suspension action has been taken after being found guilty in connection with the extra marital affair. At the same time, the administration had ordered an inquiry in this matter and sought an investigation report from DG Training.

Earlier in March 2021, Ankit Mittal was accused of serious allegations of fake encounter. Questions were raised on Mittal regarding the death of bandit Bhalchandra Yadav in a police encounter while he was posted as SP Chitrakoot.
