Ghaziabad. Four-year-old girl Farheen was bitten by 10-15 stray dogs while she was playing at SR Bhatta near Bhikanpur village on Meerut Road at 12 noon on Saturday. For half an hour, the dogs scratched and left deep wounds on most parts of the girl’s body including her hands, legs, head and neck. The girl kept screaming and the dogs kept scratching.
Hearing the crying sound, Farheen’s mother Rukhsana and father Zorif arrived with sticks in their hands. Driven away the dogs with great difficulty. Mother Rukhsana reached the joint hospital in Sanjay Nagar with blood soaked Farheen. Dr. Ranjit Singh told that the girl was brought to the emergency in a seriously injured condition. After applying anti-rabies vaccine and cleaning the wounds, the girl was referred to GTB Delhi.
Was admitted to GTB at 2 o’clock
Ambulance service program manager Jayvinder Singh said that the girl was admitted to GTB at 2 o’clock. The girl’s father Zorif told that the girl had once asked only for a fruit. After that there is no movement in the girl’s body. The doctors have given oxygen to the girl. Zorif is living with his daughter Farheen, son Farhan and wife Rukhsana by working as a laborer at a kiln.
More than 20 children injured due to dog bites
Earlier, more than 20 children have been seriously injured due to bites of stray and pet dogs in the district. Along with registering FIRs in police stations, the Municipal Corporation has also imposed fines on many dog owners. Soni Parsi, a 75-year-old elderly woman living in Seva Villa De Society, Rajnagar Extension, was attacked by several stray dogs while going to the temple on May 11.
The woman fell while trying to escape from the dogs and the dogs bit her, causing deep and serious wounds on her hands, legs and mouth. The woman was treated in a private hospital for two days and the doctors applied 28 stitches. The situation is not improving yet.
14 year old teenager dies of rabies
On September 5, 2023, 14-year-old Kishore Savage, resident of Vijayanagar, died of rabies. Every day, children, youth, women and elderly people are getting seriously injured due to dog bites in many societies of Rajnagar Extension.
