Here Till India plays more ODI cricket and IPL. Ravi Shastri, who coached India for four years, told well-known writer Jeffrey Archer on his podcast, “If you ask anyone in the team, 99 percent of them will say they love Test match cricket. What he has done over the last five years is maintain him as the world No. 1 team at the end of every year.”
Shastri listed the team’s achievements in Tests during his reign as head coach. He talked about the one-sided World Test Championship (WTC) final defeat against New Zealand. India came back this year to win a series against England as well as two series in Australia. “We may have lost the WTC final unilaterally against New Zealand, but we have dominated the format for the last five years,” Ravi Shastri said. India had suffered a crushing defeat against New Zealand on their own soil and India also lost in the final match of the World Test Championship.
