A day after President Ram Nath Kovind signed the Agriculture Bills and enacted them, Punjab Youth Congress activists on Monday set fire to a tractor in the high-security India Gate area, protesting. At around 7.15 am on the birth anniversary of the revolutionary Bhagat Singh, about 10-15 workers of the Punjab Youth Congress reached the national capital in a truck to protest the controversial agricultural laws.
The workers unloaded a tractor from the truck and set it on fire. In a tweet, the IYC quoted Bhagat Singh as saying, “If the deaf wants to be heard, the voice should be very loud: Bhagat Singh.” The tweet said, in honor of the memory of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, the Punjab Youth Congress protested the BJP government’s indifferent attitude towards farmers by burning a tractor at India Gate. Wake up the sleeping government. Inquilab Zindabad. It also attached a video of the incident. The incident took place a few meters from Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The Delhi Police is trying to identify CCTV footage and identify the people involved in it. Delhi BJP Media Cell chief Neelkant Bakshi said that he will file an FIR against the Youth Congress workers. He alleged that Youth Congress workers brought a tractor and set it on fire to spread violence. Bakshi said, they are trying to riot in the country and I will lodge an FIR to stop this conspiracy.
