Lucknow. During the Bhoomi Pujan on August 5 for the Ram temple, the Prime Minister may not have spoken politically from the stage, but he gave a big message on the pretext of Ram. Anyway, Ram city Ayodhya has already been the foundation of politics. Now that the temple construction is going to start there after foundation worship, it is bound to have a political impact in the upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh.
The temple issue has been on the BJP’s electoral agenda for many decades. He has also had to face strong sarcasm from the opposition. In this way Ayodhya’s Ram temple was well known for the politics of votes apart from faith and reverence.
Whenever the BJP raised this issue, its graph has kept growing. Even though BJP today says that the temple issue is linked to the faith and identity of crores of people of the country, but the truth is that BJP has taken electoral advantage and would like to take it further.
Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh are in 2022. Till then the construction work of the temple will be in great progress. In such a situation, the BJP will once again try to cross the electoral barrier. Prime Minister Modi has also given many gestures from the platform of Bhoomi Pujan. Even in the Corona crisis, the manner in which this event was well organized and people were given lamps in homes and temples under the pretext of Ram Utsav, they were definitely messages of the coming elections.
Senior political analyst says that Ayodhya has been in politics from the beginning. After independence, many socialist ideology people, including Acharya Narendra Dev, had separated from the Congress. Acharya Narendra Dev had also resigned from the assembly seat of Faizabad. When the by-election was held in the year 1948, he contested from the Socialist Party and the Congress fielded the sage Baba Raghav Das of Poorvanchal against him. In this by-election, the Congress played the Hindu card fiercely and the posters at that time featured Baba Raghav Das as Ram and Acharya Narendra Dev as Ravana. Baba Raghav Das won this election in the name of Ram.
He says that after this victory Ramlala appeared in the disputed structure in 1949. Many people including Mahant Ramchandra Das, Baba Abhiramdas of Nirvani Akhara and Hanuman Prasad Poddyar said that God has appeared with light. Prime Minister Nehru asked the district administration to remove the idol, but the then DM KK Nayyar did not remove the idol but resigned.
Nayyar contested and won elections thereafter. His wife became an MP four times. In 1986, Rajiv Gandhi opened the lock. When the Congress started going much further, the BJP moved towards this issue very quickly. Since then, the Ram temple has been in the BJP agenda. Now, the SP and BSP are quiet in the opposition, but the Congress is divided about it. In such a situation, now this nectar will come in the BJP’s part. Nobody would like to drink the remaining poison.
Senior journalist told that Ayodhya’s Ram temple issue has been a part of politics from the beginning. In 1992, when the disputed structure was demolished. During that time there was a BJP government in the state. However, in the 1993 elections, the BJP had to face defeat and Maya and Mulayam’s government came into the state. Yet the BJP did not leave this issue. He kept it on his core agenda from the beginning. At present, on August 5, Modi has made a big streak by worshiping the land for the construction of the temple. Now it will be very difficult for the opposition to erase it.
