new Delhi . Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has termed the new education policy approved by the Union Cabinet as ‘highly regulated and puerile funded’. The Delhi government believes that the new education policy has a system of excessive regulation and inspection, while no concrete commitment of funding has been made. Sisodia said, “The new education policy is buried under the burden of old understanding and old tradition. It has new thinking but it is silent or confused on how to achieve the reforms that have been talked about.”
According to Sisodia, the new education policy will have bodies like an education department, a directorate, a regulatory authority, an education commission, SCERT and a board of education at the state level. Sisodia has expressed apprehension that so many agencies will get entangled with each other, so how will education work.
Sisodia said, “The National Education Policy calls for spending 6 percent of GDP on education. This has been said since the time of the Kothari Commission since 1966. But how the policy is implemented is silent.” There is no talk of making any law about it. ”
Sisodia said, “Even bringing education up to 12th under the ‘Right to Education Act’ has not been explicitly stated in this policy. Right now education is free till the eighth standard under the law of education. This education policy made in six years If you do not solve the basic questions like funding and legal scope, then the implementation of education policy is difficult. ”
The Delhi government termed the earlier primary education as a reasonable step to bring formal education and breakfast. The Kejriwal government has also considered it appropriate to open subjects and course options for children, education in mother tongue and B.Ed for four years.
Sisodia termed the government’s responsibility to provide quality education to children. He said, “Wherever there is a good education system all over the world, the government itself takes responsibility for it. But in this education system, the government school system has not been directly insisted on taking this responsibility. Rather it promotes private institutions It has been said. According to Sisodia, the Supreme Court had also termed private institutions as shops of education. Therefore, we should insist on government education instead of private schools. “
