Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh Relief Commissioner Sanjay Goyal said that 240 villages in 17 tehsils of 8 districts of the state are under the flood. 65 thousand 564 people of these villages are affected. He said that 57 villages of Barabanki, 2 of Ayodhya, 9 of Kushinagar, 80 of Gorakhpur, 14 of Azamgarh, 7 of Basti, 68 of Sant Kabirnagar and 3 of Sitapur are affected by floods. He said that 65 thousand 564 people were affected by the floods. The area sown in 8,408.6 hectare has been affected by the floods so far in 7 districts of Barabanki, Basti, Gonda, Kushinagar, Mau, Santakbir Nagar, Sitapur.
Rahut Commissioner informed that two rivers in the state are flowing above the danger mark. Among them, Sharda river is flowing 8 cm above its danger mark in Lakhimpur Kheri and Saryu river is flowing 16 cm above its danger mark in Ballia.
Goyal said that there is no worrying situation anywhere. In 6 districts of the state, Bahraich, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Shravasti, NDRF in Prayagraj and 6 districts of Kushinagar, Gorakhpur, Balrampur, Prayagraj, SDRF in Moradabad and 5 districts of Bahraich, Balrampur, Barabanki, Gonda and SAC have been posted.
Relief Commissioner informed that detailed guidelines have been issued in relation to rescue and relief management to deal with floods and floods. Food grains are being distributed to the flood affected families. This kit contains 17 types of ingredients including 10 kg flour, 10 kg rice, 10 kg potato, 5 kg lai, 2 kg roasted gram, 2 kg arhar dal, salt, turmeric, chilli, coriander, kerosene, candle, matchstick, 10 Packet biscuits, refined oil, chlorine and bath soaps are being distributed.
He informed that arrangements have been made to provide 5 kg of straw per day for the feed of the animals of the affected villages.
