new Delhi. The Bharatiya Janata Party has initiated a siege of the Kejriwal government over heavy electricity bills in Delhi during the lockdown. BJP state president Adesh Kumar Gupta has written to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal seeking an appointment. He has said that the party’s delegation wants to meet Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and discuss the game of electricity bills.
State BJP President Aadesh Kumar Gupta has written in a letter to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal that for long time people of all sections of society, entrepreneurs, businessmen, civic organizations, besides schools and religious places have given us fixed charges on electricity bills, Are complaining about average billing and other surcharges.
Delhi’s industries and markets have been closed since early March. But due to the fixed charge and high commercial rate and charges, people are getting huge bills, on the other hand, ordinary citizens living in homes due to lockdown also got their bills increased. The benefits of the subsidy they received from the increase in the bill also ended.
The state president told Chief Minister Kejriwal, “The Delhi BJP delegation wants to meet you on the problems related to electricity bills, please take time. In a democracy, it is the responsibility of the government to pay attention to people’s problems. In various states including Madhya Pradesh and Haryana People have been given relief in electricity bills at the time of lockdown. ”
Let me tell you that even before this, BJP state president Adesh Kumar Gupta laid siege to Kejriwal government on this issue. He accused the Kejriwal government and the power companies of a scam of Rs 1131 crore. He said that Delhi government has done this scam in association with power companies in the name of subsidy and fix charge during lockdown. Despite the closure of 2 lakh small and big industries in lockdown, huge bill is being charged in the name of fix charge and average bill. There are more than seven lakh shops and offices in Delhi. All these too have been handed a huge electricity bill in the name of fix charge.
