Mumbai. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to cancel various professional examinations in the wake of the Kovid-19 epidemic. In a letter to the Prime Minister, Thackeray has said that the state government has recently decided not to conduct the end of year or semester examination for vocational and non-vocational courses for the academic year 2019-2020.
Different universities in Maharashtra will be awarded degrees on the basis of a formula that will be set. However, the students have been given the option to take examinations if the situation of conducting examinations is created.
Not only this, the government has also decided to talk to the top bodies of the national level to cancel the examinations for vocational courses. These include All India Council for Technical Education, Council of Architecture, Pharmacy Council of India, Bar Council of India, National Council of Teachers Education and National Council for Hotel Council and Catering Technology.
Thackeray has urged Modi to support the decision of the state government by directing all these top bodies to cancel the final year or semester examinations of these vocational courses and issue necessary guidelines to the universities.
Explain that on June 19, as part of an important decision, Maharashtra announced the cancellation of all final year examinations for professional and non-professional courses in all state universities for 2019-2020.
