Explain that the Indian team played the World Cup final against West Indies at Lord’s Stadium in London on 25 June 1983 and India defeated the two-time world champion team West Indies by 43 runs. India had scored 183 runs after losing the toss and batting first, in response to which the Indian team piled on the Caribbean team for 140 and won their first World Cup title. India won the second title after 28 years, beating Sri Lanka in 2011 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.
