Bhubaneswar The Supreme Court gave permission to conduct the Rath Yatra in Puri, Odisha with some restrictions. The court said that the Puri Rath Yatra will be organized with the coordination of the temple committee, state and central government without compromising on health.
Heard the Puri Rath Yatra in a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of the Supreme Court SA Bobde. The three-member bench consisted of Chief Justice of Supreme Court Justice SA Bobde, Justice AS Bopanna, Justice Dinesh Maheshwari. Puri District Collector Balwant Singh has said that Srikshetra Dham is fully ready for the Rath Yatra. Whatever instructions the Supreme Court will be complied with. A meeting was held on the Rath Yatra at the local Nilachal Bhakta Niwas under the chairmanship of Dr. Kishan Kumar, the Chief Administrator of Sreejgannath Temple. The meeting was attended by District Collector Balwant Singh, Puri SP Umashankar Das along with senior officials of all the departments of the city.
According to the information received, the Puri Municipality has instructed the temporary shopkeepers to immediately remove the shop. State government ready to conduct rath yatra

For a long time there was uncertainty over whether a rath yatra would take place this year due to an epidemic like corona infection, on which the Supreme Court today took this important decision. The case was heard by a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Supreme Court Justice SA Bobde. The judge had said that the Rath Yatra should be stopped this year for the safety and public interest of the people. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court had said that Lord Jagannath will not forgive us if the Supreme Court allows the Rath Yatra. Not only Puri, but this year, the Rath Yatra will not be carried out in any place in Odisha.
