Prayagraj. Allahabad High Court has issued a contempt notice to SP Kaushambi. The court has directed to file an affidavit in compliance of the order of September 6, 2024 or appear on March 4.
This order has been given by Justice Salil Kumar Rai while hearing the contempt petition of Shiv Kumar, resident of Rasulpur Baragaon. Advocates Ashok Kumar Srivastava and Shabana Azmi argued on behalf of the petitioner. Told that Kaushambi police station’s sub-inspector Dilip Kumar and constable Saurabh are unnecessarily harassing and beating him.
FIR is not being registered for this. The High Court had ordered to take action by registering an FIR against the police on charges of assault including SC-ST Act.
FIR was registered, but no action was taken against the guilty police. A contempt petition has been filed for not fully complying with the order.
Supreme Court overturns High Court’s decision
Let us tell you that on Monday, Supreme Court has acquitted Gambhir Singh who was sentenced to death in a mass murder case 13 years ago. On the morning of May 9, 2012, the village Turkiya in Achhnera was terrified due to the mass murder. The blood-soaked bodies of six family members were lying in two rooms of the house.
The High Court had ordered death penalty
It was alleged that the middle son of the house, Gambhir Singh, killed his elder brother Satyabhan, his wife and four children with an axe. The Sessions Court awarded death penalty to Gambhir for the incident, which was upheld by the High Court.
After 13 years, Supreme Court released the culprit
After 13 years, Supreme Court cancelled the sentence and acquitted Gambhir and ordered his immediate release from jail. On Sunday, the entire village was left speechless after getting information about the Supreme Court’s decision. The murder and Gambhir Singh were the topic of discussion on every street and corner.
Satyabhan’s younger brother Gambhir, his minor friend and sister Gayatri were sent to jail on the same day of the incident, just a few hours after the murder of farmer Satyabhan, his wife Pushpa, six-year-old daughter Aarti, three-year-old Machhla, two-year-old Gudiya and four-year-old son Kanhaiya in Turkiya village of Achhnera area on May 9, 2012.
