CO Khurja Bhaskar Mishra said that on Wednesday night, the police team was checking suspicious persons and vehicles near Madanpur Gate on the basis of information. During this time, a suspicious person was seen coming to the police on a scooty from the direction of Jewar. The police signaled him to stop, but he did not stop and started running fast towards Chandos Marg with the scooty.
When the police chased the miscreant, his scooty slipped out of control near the railway line, on which the miscreant, seeing himself surrounded, opened fire towards the police team. In the retaliatory firing, the miscreant got shot in the leg and was injured.
The arrested miscreant was identified as Shivkumar son of Prakash, resident of village Chayasa, district Faridabad, Haryana. The police recovered cash worth Rs 20 lakh, a pistol and a scooty without number plate from the arrested miscreant.
PPS Prakhar Pandey and Inspector Rajpal Singh Tomar posted at the police station said that the arrested miscreant is a cunning type. On the 17th, the miscreant had carried out the incident of fleeing with a bag full of Rs 20 lakh by deceiving a woman Sangeeta, resident of Mohalla Gorilla Hakimpur, Palwal, Haryana. About 13 cases are registered against the arrested miscreant in Gautam Buddha Nagar and Bulandshahr.
