Veteran actress and BJP leader Hema Malini has won a spectacular victory in the Lok Sabha elections. Hema Malini, who contested from Mathura Lok Sabha constituency, defeated her nearest rival Mukesh Dhangar of Congress. Hema will reach Parliament for the third time by contesting from the Mathura seat.

Hema made her debut with the 1963 Tamil film Idhu Sathiyam. Her debut film in Hindi cinema was Sapno Ka Saudagar, in which Raj Kapoor played the lead role. Hema Malini then played the heroine in many hit Hindi films. Her pairing with Dharmendra was a hit at the box office and was also very much discussed off screen.
She married Dharmendra in 1980. Their marriage was also very popular. Hema is currently away from the world of cinema. His last film was Shimla Mirchi which was released in 2020.
