According to the information, the private bus was carrying devotees from Sitapur district to Uttarakhand for the darshan of Maa Purnagiri. Meanwhile, a horrific road accident took place on Gola Road, located about one and a half kilometers from Tikunia in Khutar police station area.
Instructions to speed up relief work
Police reached the spot after receiving the information and started relief work with the help of nearby people and cranes. Many children and women were also traveling in the bus. At present, the passengers trapped in the bus have been taken out. After receiving information about the accident, Shahjahanpur District Magistrate Umesh Pratap Singh and Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Meena reached the spot. During this time the officials directed to speed up the relief work.
11 people died
Shahjahanpur SP Ashok Kumar Meena said that around 11 pm we received information that a bus was standing in Khutar police station area, in which devotees going to Purnagiri were sitting inside the bus and some devotees were eating food at a dhaba. Meanwhile, a truck lost control and overturned on the bus. A total of 11 people died and 10 were injured in this accident.
