Lucknow. History-sheeter Nitin Kundi and his associate had opened fire on the car of law student Satpal late on Sunday night. On Wednesday morning, Chinhat police had an encounter with history-sheeter Nitin and his associate behind Dayal Farm in Chinhat.
In the encounter, Nitin Kundi was seriously injured after being shot in the leg, while his associate Shekhar Kaushal escaped by dodging the police. Accused Nitin has completed his law studies from City Law College. Injured Nitin has been admitted to Lohia Hospital.
This is the whole matter
Deputy Commissioner of Police East Prabal Pratap Singh said that Nitin is a resident of Chinhat Matiyari. Late on Sunday night, Satpal, a resident of Deoria, was returning by car with his friends Krishnanand and Poonam.
Meanwhile, Nitin, riding a gray Swift car, opened fire on Matiyari Road. However, no one was hit by the bullet. There were holes in the car at many places due to firing. Inspector Chinhat and SOG team were checking near Dayal Farm on Sunday morning.
Nitin and his companion were traveling in the same numberless Swift car. The roof of the car was black. The police team tried to stop him. On this the car riders increased their speed and ran towards the back of the farm house.
Miscreant injured in retaliatory firing
When the police team tried to cordon off the car, the car riders started firing. In the retaliatory firing by the police, one was injured by a bullet in his right leg and fell on the spot. Meanwhile, the other partner Shekhar Kaushal ran away as soon as he got the chance.
The injured was identified as history-sheeter Nitin Kundi. The same car was also seen in the CC footage of Nitin running away after the firing on Sunday. A country made pistol has been recovered from Nitin. Raids are being conducted in search of Shekhar Kaushal.
Firing was done for supremacy
According to ACP Vibhutikhand Anidya Vikram Singh, there has been a dispute between Nitin and Satpal regarding supremacy for many years. There have been disputes between the two many times in the past also. Seven to eight criminal cases are registered against Nitin under sections including assault, murderous assault, rioting etc.
