West Indies player Fabian Allen has gone to South Africa to play the SA20 tournament but an unpleasant incident has happened with him. Fabian Allen was robbed at gunpoint. The incident happened when he had come out of his hotel. He was in Johannesburg. Currently he is playing for Paarl Royals.
The attackers, armed with guns, made off with Allen’s belongings near the Sandton Sun Hotel. Allen’s phone, bag and some other personal belongings were snatched away by the robbers. Due to this, concerns have also increased regarding the safety of other players playing in the tournament. According to Cricbuzz, some sources from the franchise have confirmed the incident.
A representative of West Indies Cricket has heaved a sigh of relief after contacting Allen. However, there has been no response from the Paarl Royals franchise on this matter. Information regarding the incident has not yet been received from the player. Police is investigating this matter. Now questions have also been raised regarding the safety of players in SA20.
Cricket West Indies coach Andre Colli has contacted Fabian Allen. Talks have taken place through another West Indies player, Obed McCoy. After this the worries about West Indies cricket ended.
