There were a lot of controversies in the past regarding Nayanthara’s film ‘Annapurni’. When this film was released in theaters on December 1, it came on OTT platform Netflix on December 29, which created a stir. The film was accused of ‘hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus’, after which the film was removed from OTT.
Nayanthara apologized for the film
Now the film’s heroine Nayanthara has apologized to all her fans on this whole matter. He has shared a long note on his Instagram account. He has started this note by writing Jai Shri Ram. After this she writes that ‘I am writing this note with a very heavy heart. My film Annapurni is not only a film but this film also motivates people to move forward in their life.
It was not our intention to hurt people
He further wrote that we wanted to give a positive message through this film, but unknowingly we hurt the sentiments of some people. I or my team had no intention of causing trouble to people. I myself am a person who celebrates God. I worship God, go to temple. So this will be the last thing I will do to people. I want to apologize to all those whose sentiments I have hurt. My aim in the last two decades of my film career has been only to spread positivity.
There was a lot of uproar about the film
Let us tell you that objectionable comments were made about Lord Ram in the film. In the movie, Lord Shri Ram has been described as a ‘meat eater’. Due to which people got angry and started demanding to ban Netflix. Seeing the growing controversy, Netflix immediately took action on it and keeping in mind the sentiments of Hindus, decided to remove Nayanthara’s film from the OTT platform.
