The auction for IPL 2024 is to be organized in Dubai today i.e. on 19th December, but just before that, a big news has come out. According to a latest report, some rules will be changed in this upcoming season of IPL, and some new rules will be added. You will remember that even before the last IPL, the rule of reviewing impact player and no ball, wide ball was introduced.
two bouncers in one over
According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, from the next season of IPL i.e. IPL 2024, bowlers can bowl a maximum of 2 bouncers in each over of IPL matches. This was not the case till now. Till now, the same rules as in international cricket were being followed in IPL, according to which bowlers could bowl a maximum of one bouncer in an over, bowling more than that was considered a no ball. However, this will not happen in IPL now, but till now no official statement has come from BCCI regarding this new rule.
Every year some new rules are being added to IPL. Last year, the impact player rule had a lot of impact in IPL matches. Some people liked this rule, while some people also opposed it. At the same time, even in the case of wide and no ball, the batsman was given the right to review, so that if he has any doubt, he can solve it himself.
A total of 77 players will be sold in the IPL auction.
However, the issue of IPL rules will come later, the auction is yet to be discussed first. The auction for IPL 2024 is going to be organized today i.e. on 19th December. All 10 teams have made preparations for the auction. This time the names of 333 players will appear in the auction, out of which 214 players will be Indian, and 119 players will be foreign. However, in this auction only 77 slots are left for players, out of which the number of slots for foreign players is 30.
