Jaunpur. The couple attempted self-immolation on Tuesday morning in front of the District Magistrate’s office in the Collectorate premises. The security personnel quickly caught the couple before setting them on fire. In this way a major incident was averted. The District Magistrate, after getting information about the entire incident from the couple, investigated with the Superintendent of Police and directed to take action against the culprits.
This is the whole matter
There was a sensation in the Collectorate premises around 11.30 when Amrit Lal and his wife Rita, residents of Gayaspur, Jalalpur, poured the diesel they had brought in a bottle on their bodies in front of the District Magistrate’s office with the intention of committing suicide.
The couple was about to light a matchstick to light a fire when the security personnel present nearby caught sight of them and immediately caught hold of both of them. At that time District Magistrate Anuj Kumar Jha was holding a public hearing. As soon as they found out, they came out and interrogated the victim couple.
Police stopping me from doing farming
Amrit Lal told that my father had bequeathed his entire property in the name of my son. After his death my son became the owner of the property. My brother Markandey filed a case. The court ruled in my favor. Even after this, the police is stopping me from doing farming under the pressure of my brother.
On Tuesday, while cutting an acacia tree, Jalalpur police station in-charge Inspector Rajesh Yadav came and scolded me and stopped me from doing any work. Such a step had to be taken when justice was not received from the police station.
During investigation, it was not found to be a matter of land dispute. Earlier, when Amrit Lal had given an application during Samadhan Diwas, he was given possession. Today the couple came and did not even meet. It seems that the couple, under someone’s instigation, came to the Collectorate without any prior notice and attempted self-immolation. The matter is being investigated. Whoever is found guilty, legal action will be taken against him.
