Jewar. On Friday, near Modelpur village on Khurja Road in the town, a dumper coming from Khurja hit an e-rickshaw, due to which three people including a pregnant woman riding the e-rickshaw died on the spot. A two and a half year old girl sitting in the lap of a pregnant woman suffered minor injuries.
After the accident, the dumper went out of control and entered the field on the roadside. People caught the driver and handed him over to the police. After the accident, angry people blocked the main intersection of the town. The police have taken all three bodies into their custody and sent them for post-mortem.
Mahesh of Nagla Banjara village of Jewar had married his daughter Aarti in Ramghat village of Bulandshahr. Aarti has a son and a daughter. Aarti was seven months pregnant. She had come to Nagla Banjara village a few days ago to stay in her maternal home. Aarti had come to a private hospital in Jewar on Friday with her sister Mohini and her two and a half year old daughter Pari for ultrasound. After undergoing ultrasound, both the sisters were returning to the village in an e-rickshaw around 4 pm.
Dumper hits e-rickshaw hard
When the e-rickshaw reached near Modelpur village, a dumper coming from the front hit the e-rickshaw. The dumper mounted on a rickshaw and entered a field on the roadside. Aarti and Mohani died tragically due to being crushed in the accident. Aarti’s daughter jumped and fell away after being hit, due to which she suffered a minor injury on her leg. E-rickshaw driver Dharmendra, a resident of Mohalla Kothetariya of Jewar, was also injured in the accident. People took him to a private hospital in the town, where doctors declared him dead.
There was a long traffic jam at the main intersection
The collision was so severe that the e-rickshaw was blown to pieces. After the accident, angry people blocked the main intersection of the town. Due to the jam, long queues of vehicles formed on Tappal Road, Khurja Road and Jhajhar Road. People allege that the police sent the body to Noida without the consent of the relatives. Angry people created a ruckus in the police station to take back the dead body.
Demand for financial help for the victim’s family
The demonstration of people continued in the Kotwali till the time of writing the news. ADCP Ashok Kumar, who reached the information, is trying to convince the victim’s relatives. Nagar Panchayat President Narayan Maheshwari spoke to MLA Dhirendra Singh over phone and demanded financial help for the victim’s family. On phone, he has assured all possible help to the victim’s relatives.
