Firozabad. A robbery of Rs 43 lakh took place at the house of a bangle businessman in Tilak Nagar of North police station area on the evening of 22 September. His daughter-in-law had got it done by her lover, cousin brother-in-law, his brother and some other people.
While uncovering the incident, the police recovered Rs 24 lakh, three bill books and two checks kept in the bag. The police have sent both of them along with an accomplice to jail. Raids are being conducted to search for the remaining two.
The daughter-in-law was alone at home
The incident took place at 5 pm in the house of bangle businessman Vijay Kumar Gupta. His daughter-in-law Swati Gupta and wife Rahul Gupta were alone at home. Son and daughter had gone for tuition. Swati had told the police that three youths who came on a bike entered the house in the name of repairing the washing machine and looted the money and ran away. Rahul Gupta had filed an FIR against unknown robbers.
Swati had hurt herself
SSP Ashish Tiwari told in the Police Lines Auditorium on Monday that Swati, her cousin brother-in-law Vaibhav Garg and Abhishek Garg, resident of Lohia Nagar, Jalesar Road, along with their two associates had committed the robbery. To give a realistic look to the incident, clothes and other items were thrown into the room and Swati’s hands and stomach were scratched with blades.
Swati had told that money was kept in the house
Vaibhav and his brother Abhishek were arrested from Kakrau Kothi on Sunday night and Rs 24.04 lakh were recovered from the looted amount. The accused told that there was information that lakhs of rupees were kept in Swati’s house to buy the plot. He committed this crime to overcome his financial crisis. CO City Kamlesh Kumar, Inspector North Kamlesh Kumar were present at the time of the talks.
Plan made in Delhi, divided in Vrindavan
SSP said that Vaibhav had planned the incident in Delhi along with Rakesh Kumar, resident of Moradabad jail, and his associate Prashant Bore, resident of Pune. Bore came to Delhi by flight on 21 September. Vaibhav came to his home with both his friends.
Distributed the money after reaching Vrindavan
On the day of the incident, Swati called her cousins and other people and gave Rs 43 lakh in the bag. While returning from there, she met Rahul’s mother on the way, when she resisted he pushed her and made her fall. After this everyone fled to Vrindavan. The money was distributed there.
Shortly after the incident, Abhishek went to a jewelers located in Sadar Bazaar and by paying four lakh rupees, he got the gold jewelery mortgaged by Swati one and a half months ago. With the looted money, Vaibhav and Abhishek repaid some loans along with the installments of Bullat and VC. The bank accounts of both are also being searched.
