What was the accident of 1989?
‘Mission Raniganj’ is produced by Vasu Bhagwani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh and Ajay Kapoor. This incident of coal accident in Raniganj, West Bengal in 1989 proved to be like ‘black water’. One night in 1989, while working in the mine, workers notice that an explosion has occurred, causing cracks in the surface of the coal mine. The entire mine was shaken by that blast.
Due to the crack, a strong flow of water came inside. The flow was so much that some workers trapped inside died. Those who were near the lift somehow survived. But there were 65 more laborers inside who were trapped. The flow of water was increasing and the people trapped there were losing hope. Then there was one employee, Jaswant Singh Gill, who did not lose courage. He rescued 65 trapped laborers from the coal mine.
