Prayagraj. The judicial custody of Mafia Atiq Ahmed and his brother Khalid Azim alias Ashraf’s killers Lavlesh Tiwari, Arun Maurya and Sunny has been extended for 14 more days. On Tuesday, the accused were produced in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate through video conferencing. During the hearing, Chief Judicial Magistrate Dinesh Kumar Gautam extended the period of judicial custody and fixed July 7 for the hearing.
Earlier the hearing was held on June 7
Earlier on June 7, there was a hearing in the matter. District Government Advocate Gulab Chandra Agrahari said that the next hearing has been scheduled on July 7.
Atiq and Ashraf were killed on 15 April
On April 15, mafia Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were shot dead. All the three accused are lodged in Pratapgarh Jail. During interrogation, it was revealed that Lavlesh Banda, Sunny Singh Hamirpur and Arun Maurya are residents of Kasganj. Turkish made Jigana, Girsan and a country made pistol were recovered from it. On the complaint of Inspector Dhumanganj Rajesh Maurya, a murder case was registered against all three at Shahganj police station. After this, the investigation of the murder case was given to the SIT.
