New Delhi. The World Test Championship (WTC 2023 Final) final was played between India and Australia at The Oval in London. Australia won the trophy by defeating India by 209 runs. Australia broke India’s dream of becoming champions after 10 years. After the victory, money rained on both the teams.
ICC World Test Championship 2023 winner team Australia got Rs 13 crore ($1.6 million) and runner up Indian team got Rs 6 crore ($8 lakh). Number three team South Africa has got Rs 37 million ($450,000).
Team number 9 also got prize money
At the same time, the fourth-placed England team got Rs 2.89 crore ($350,000) and Sri Lanka at number five got Rs 1.65 crore ($200,000). Apart from this, New Zealand at number 6, Pakistan at number 7, West Indies at number 8 and Bangladesh at number 9 got Rs 82 lakh.
Didn’t change prize money
Let us inform that in May the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the price money for the 2021-23 World Test Championship. For this, a total amount of more than 31 crores ($3.8 million dollars) was approved. No change has been made in this prize money. The same prize money was kept in 2019-21.
It may be noted that in the points table of the World Test Championship, Australia was on top with 152 points from 19 matches. After this, India remained at number two with 127 points in 18 matches. South Africa finished third with exactly 100 points from 15 matches.
