A major accident took place in the Gorabazar area of Ghazipur’s Kotwali area at 5 pm on Saturday. The accident took place at the Patthar Ghat of the river Ganga when five boys were playing juvenile football on the sand dune that emerged in the middle of the river. Meanwhile, due to a strong kick, the football went into the water.
First a teenager went into the water to bring back the football. But, he started drowning due to going deep in the river. After this, two more teenagers went into the river to save their partner. He also drowned in the river while saving his friend. Whereas, the other two boys present with him could somehow save their lives. Those people informed about the incident to other people as well as to the police. Since then the three drowned boys are being searched.

Actually, the incident took place on Saturday at 5 pm at Pattharghat in the Kotwali area of the city. 20-year-old Kishan Mahadeva, 18-year-old Mukesh Yadav and 14-year-old Sarfaraz were playing football with two other friends on a sand dune in the middle of the Ganges river. All of them are residents of Ghazipur Police Station Kotwali area, near Bara Bangla PG College.
All three immersed in saving each other
During the game, due to someone’s sharp kick, the ball went into the river. A boy who entered the river to retrieve the ball started drowning and two other boys also entered the river to save him. But, while trying to save each other, all three drowned in the river. Two other boys who went to save him also started drowning, but somehow they saved themselves.
search divers
They shouted for help. The fishermen present on the spot searched for the drowned boys. But could not find it. Immediately the information of the incident was given to the police. On getting the information, the victim’s family along with top police officials including Ganga Ghat ADM AK Singh of Gorabazar have also reached. A team of divers has been deployed in search of the three boys.
