Kushinagar: A heart-wrenching incident took place at Maghi Mathia under Ramkola police station. Seven houses were gutted in the fire around noon on Wednesday. Seven people of the same family were burnt alive. The dead include mother, four daughters and father-in-law. The DM announced a gratuitous assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the victim families on behalf of the government.
For unknown reasons, a fire broke out in Nabi Hasan’s house. In no time, the fire engulfed the houses of Ghaffar, Zalim, Isha, Reyaz Firoz. The flames engulfed the house of Sher Muhammad’s Katran built on pillar support and started burning in smoke.
Divyang Fathima (30 years), who was present in the house, did not even get a chance to go out with her daughters Rokahi (6 years), Amina (4 years), Ayesha (2 years) and Khatija (2 months) and burnt to death in the house. . Father-in-law Shafid (70 years) and mother-in-law Motirani (67 years) present in the second room of the house were seriously burnt. Both were taken to the hospital, where they too died during treatment.
District Magistrate Ramesh Ranjan, SP Dhaval Jaiswal, ADM Devi Dayal Verma, SDM Mahatma Singh started rescue work along with giving unnecessary help to the victim families. The DM announced gratuitous assistance of Rs 4 lakh towards the government.
Chief Minister expressed condolences
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath tweeted on his official Twitter handle and expressed deep grief over the loss of lives due to the fire. Wishing peace to the departed souls, expressed his condolences to the bereaved family members. The district administration has been directed to conduct relief and rescue work on a war footing and on priority for proper treatment of the injured.
