Moradabad: 10 people died in a collision between a mini loader (small elephant) and DCM in Bhagatpur police station area at around 1.30 pm on Sunday. Many people have been injured in this painful accident. Seven of the injured are in critical condition. He was referred to the district hospital for better treatment. Most of the injured and dead are residents of Koharbaku village under Bhojpur police station.
Ansar Hussain, brother-in-law of Shabbir Ahmed, a resident of Koharbaku village, lives in Khempur village of Swar tehsil of Rampur. His niece’s wedding was on Sunday. Shabbir had left for Khempur to deliver rice in a mini loader along with his family members. More than 20 people including men and women were aboard the mini loader.
On the Dalpatpur-Kashipur road, the DCM coming from the front collided with a mini loader at around 1.30 pm. During this, both the vehicles overturned in the roadside ditch. The accident happened in front of Rajdhani Dhaba near Khairkhata village in Bhagatpur police station area. The crowd of people around immediately reached the spot. The villagers somehow pulled out the injured from Khairkhate with the help of the dhaba staff and the police.
During this, eight year old Bushra died on the spot. The dead bodies of Rabia, Arifa, Hanifa have also been kept in the mortuary of the hospital. He has been declared dead in the district hospital. More than 15 people have been injured in the accident. Heavy police force including SSP Hemraj Meena, SP City Akhilesh Bhadoria, CO Civil Lines reached the district hospital. Seriously injured people have been referred. Some of the injured are being treated at Kasmas Hospital on Kanth Road.
SSP Hemraj Meena said that the death of four people is yet to be confirmed in the road accident in Bhagatpur police station area. A list of the injured and the dead is being prepared. Our first task is to provide better treatment to them. The cause of the accident will be investigated.
