Atiq and Ashraf are also named as conspirators in the trial for the murder of Umesh Pal and his two government gunners in a broad daylight shootout on February 24.

Three days later, after issuing warrant B for Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf in the Umesh Pal murder case, the police got them served in Sabarmati and Bareilly jails. On Tuesday morning, the Prayagraj police reached Sabarmati Jail with the court’s production warrant.

Another case against 11 members including Atiq, Ali
On the complaint of Sabir, another case has been registered against Mafia Atiq Ahmed, who is lodged in Sabarmati Jail, and his son Ali Ahmed, who is detained in Naini Jail. The Dhumanganj police have registered a report against Atiq and Ali as well as 11 members of the gang on the complaint of Sabir Hussain, a resident of Prayagraj, in connection with the attack for non-payment of extortion money four years ago. Atiq has been accused of hatching the conspiracy. Police say that Sabir was earlier associated with the Atik gang. He is a relative of Jabir, an active member of the gang.
Sabir Hussain alleges that on April 14, 2019, he was at Chakia’s house with his mother Afroz. Other people including Atik’s son Ali came with guns and called out standing at the door. After this, Aslam’s henchman tried to talk to Atiq by calling him. When he refused, Ali and Asad put pistols on his temple. Also demanded extortion of one crore rupees. Firing for refusing to pay extortion. Sabir also alleges that about 10 days before the murder of Umesh Pal, Minister Aslam, Asad and many others came to his house and demanded extortion.
