Lucknow: To travel in roadways buses of Uttar Pradesh, now a little more pocket will have to be loosened. The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has increased the fare by 25 paise. Ordinary bus fare will now have to be paid at the rate of one rupee 30 paise per km per person. The corporation has issued an order for this.
The fare of Transport Corporation buses will increase from 12 midnight. Till now the fare of the corporation’s general service buses was one rupee five paise per kilometer. After the increase in the fare, now the passengers will have to pay at the rate of one rupee 30 paise per kilometer. The fare per kilometer has been increased by 25 paise.
Regional manager Vimal Ranjan told that after December 2019, now the corporation has increased the fare of buses, then diesel used to be Rs 63 a litre. Currently diesel is Rs 90 a litre. Due to the continuous increase in the price of diesel, the buses of the Transport Corporation were operating at a loss. This will directly affect the pocket of the passengers.
Earlier the fare from Ayodhya depot to Kanpur in ordinary service buses was Rs 298, now passengers will have to pay around Rs 358. Similarly, the fare from Ayodhya to Lucknow was earlier 189, now it will be increased to about 226 rupees. The fare from Ayodhya to Shiva’s city of Varanasi was earlier Rs 253, now around Rs 309 will have to be paid.

Similarly, the fare from Ayodhya to Prayagraj was earlier Rs 203, now Rs 246 will have to be paid. Earlier the fare for Ayodhya to Gorakhpur was Rs 190, now Rs 206 has to be paid. The Regional Manager said that the announcement of the increased fare will be done in all the four depots of the zone, so that there is no confusion among the passengers.
The fare of air-conditioned buses has also been increased.
Along with this, instructions have been given to display the new fare list at the bus station within 48 hours. He informed that like general service buses, fares of Janrath, air-conditioned sleeper and high-end valves and Scania buses have also been increased.
