New Delhi. Just a day before the 74th Republic Day of India, the Central Government has announced the Padma Awards. This time a total of 26 citizens will be honored with Padma Awards, out of which the name of late Mulayam Singh Yadav, a veteran leader, is also included. According to the government notification, Mulayam Singh Yadav will be conferred with the Padma Vibhushan award. After this decision taken by the Central Government, there is a wave of pride in Mulayam Singh’s native village Saifai.
Mulayam Singh Yadav has served the country as the Defense Minister of India. He has also been the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. Mulayam Singh Yadav has been known as the messiah of the backward, who worked on Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia’s ideology of socialism by emphasizing it. Late Mulayam Singh had taken a historic decision to pay respect to the martyred soldiers that the mortal remains of the soldiers who lost their lives in the line of duty would be taken to their homes with tricolor on the coffin.

Mulayam Singh Yadav was born on 22 November 1939 in Saifai village of Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh. He entered politics while serving the society as a teacher and founded the Samajwadi Party. He did his MA degree in Political Science from Agra University and got a job as a spokesperson. However, he left teaching as political activism increased.
