New Delhi. A few months ago, Prithvi Shaw posted a story on his Instagram handle, which read, “Hope you are watching everything Sai Baba.” After being ignored from the Indian team, Prithvi Shaw took the help of God. Then the earth was judged even by such people, who do not even know him. When he needed friends the most, none of them were even with him.
Prithvi Shaw represented Mumbai in a Ranji Trophy match against Assam, scoring a fine 379 off 383 balls. After this, while describing the condition of his heart, he said, ‘I think the post of Sai Baba was not for anyone else. It was a completely personal thing. In the history of nearly 9 decades in Indian first-class cricket, Shaw became the batsman to make the second best individual score.
yardstick to judge
Earlier Bhausaheb Nimbalkar had scored 443 runs for Maharashtra against Kathiawar at Pune in 1948-49, which is a record individual best score. Prithvi said on being ignored by the Indian team, ‘Sometimes you get disappointed. You know you are doing things right. You know your process is correct. You are honest with yourself. You are disciplined with your career on and off the field. But sometimes people talk differently. People, who do not even know you, also judge you.
Success makes one wise, but bad times make one mature faster. Prithvi Shaw, 23, now knows and can find who his well-wishers are. Under-19 World Cup winning captain Shaw said, ‘When I don’t perform well, I don’t worry about the people who are not with me. Now I have started ignoring them. This is the best strategy.
Prithvi is not thinking about the Indian team
Even the comments of social media do not bother Prithvi Shaw anymore. He said, ‘I use social media, but all my posts are done by my manager. He takes care of my handles and story. I don’t see what’s going on now. I have started keeping myself away from all these things. If I do things right and my process is right, days like this will come again and again.
Prithvi Shaw also told that now he does not think about returning to the Indian team. He said, ‘Now I don’t think that anyone should call me in the Indian team. I try to keep things straight and don’t think too far ahead. I am the kind of person who likes to live one day at a time. I have to correct mine today. I am playing for Mumbai and my aim is to win the Ranji Trophy. Many people are praising and people have high expectations. I hope I made him happy.
