In Agra, the Municipal Corporation has sent a notice of more than one crore rupees to the Taj Mahal. The notice includes house tax, water tax and sewer tax etc. According to officials, a notice of about one and a half lakh rupees has been sent to the officials of the Archaeological Department in the name of house tax alone. In the notice, it has been asked to deposit this house tax within 15 days. According to officials of the Archaeological Survey of India, Agra (ASI), a notice of house tax has also been sent to Etmaddaula Memorial. This notice has been sent to the protected monument Etmaddoula in the name of Etmaddoula Forecourt.
This happened due to the mistake of the agency!
When asked in this regard, Dr. Rajkumar Patel, Superintendent in the Archaeological Survey of India, told that the situation will be clarified by replying to the notices sent regarding Taj Mahal and Etmaddaula. He said that Taj Mahal and Etmaddaulah are national monuments and they are the property of the central and state governments.
He expressed the possibility that this might have happened due to the mistake of the agency engaged by the Municipal Corporation for tax calculation. The Archaeological Department will clarify the situation by sending a reply to the Municipal Corporation. In this regard, Assistant Municipal Commissioner Sarita Singh said, Sai Construction Company has been given the responsibility of house tax calculation. Due to Google mapping, a mistake has been detected at some places. It is being investigated.
